2nd Place: Jimmy O’Toole, Gerry Claffey, Sean Kane.

Ten rounds of questions resulted in a tie between the two top scoring teams. Our quizmaster on the night, Charlie Bourke, asked three further tie-breaker questions and we ended up with the above result. Pete Smyth ( teacher, Kylemore Abbey) and his team of Pat Casey and Ivan Griffin ended up the overall winners, beating Jimmy O’Toole (teacher, Clifden C.S.), Gerry Claffey (teacher, Clifden C.S.) and Sean Kane (teacher, Clifden C.S.) by one point. The tension was fierce in what ended up a “battle of brains” between local education establishments! Thank you to everyone who came to the table quiz and in turn supported our underage teams. We hope to run another quiz night or two throughout the season.
